55 gas tank inside baffle

Today I removed Floyd's gas tank. As I moved it around I heard metal clanking from inside. When I was able to see inside the tank I see that one of the baffles inside the tank is free ranging in there. I also found a couple kernels of wheat and a fairly substantial tree twig.

Is there any safety issue or other concern with that baffle being free?

While having a loose baffle isn't ideal, I think I would be more concerned with the debris inside than the baffle. That will cause you no end of trouble. You may want to think about a replacement tank.

Thanks Merc,
I can see very well inside the tank and after sloshing a bunch of denatured alcohol around I can see that there is no more debris - except of what appears to be a fishing line split shot!!
Can't imagine how the baffle became disconnected.

Weak spot weld followed by metal corrosion and years of vibration.
