Idle Air Control

I saw this mentioned a couple of times on FTE, Is there an IAC on a 96 Aero 4.0? If so where can I find it? My new Chilton's dosen' list it in the index. Thank you, Jim

If you open your hood and look at the throttle body, it will jump out and bite you.

IAC stands for Idle Air Control, so there is only one place it can be, right on the throttle body.

A bad IAC will cause erratic idle and/or stalling at idle. It does not cause the vehicle to run rough or misfire.

Don't know what you're going to do to the IAC, but for idle problems the first thing I do is spray some carb cleaner on a rag and clean the butterfly. It's worked every time so far.

Go to Autozone online site, lots of Aero service info with diagrams. Not always totally accurate but will get you close. Can try spraying inside of the IAC with carb cleaner after removing, sometimes helps if it is just road dirt gumming. Internally high speed moving valve, wear item
