Is it porcelain? It it was, it was 'porcelainized' after it was curved, because when you bend a porcelain sign, it shatters.

More than likely it's a tin painted sign.

Yeah, no question bending would have ruined a porcelain sign, unless it was bent from new. I’ve seen other porcelain curved signs, (Lincoln Highway, barber poles, Quaker State, etc) but agree it could just be a tin sign. Either way it’d be worth you’re left arm. Stu

I am thinking that one of these signs could be could be bent in a broad circle without damage. The porcelain coating is thin:

Porcelain is thin but completely non-flexible.
Have busted up cast-iron tubs and even well away from hammer strikes, the porcelain just crazes into needle-like shards. It's very durable until it's asked to move.

Yeah, my thoughts too. I’ve chipped high dollar old signs just mounting them to a flat wall. And kicked my butt each time it happened. Stu

It looks like a type of puller tool mounted on there. It must be a busy place!

Sorry, it's a pretty lame song and I don't give a rat's a$$ about surfing or surf boards. I just like wood and old ford trucks.
