those tires are Maxxis Bighorns- 235/85/16. Love the tall skinny look and they ride great! Got to test them in over a foot of snow and they are sweet indeed

I have a 300 six in a 4wd and it has plenty of power, albeit with a 4.10 rear end. The “Ford Six”’site will tell you everything you need to know about setting up this durable engine. That said, the conclusion of everybody is that horsepower increase comes a lot cheaper with mods on a V8 instead of souping up a straight six.

When, I first got my 71 f250 4wd with a good running 300ci 6 that pulled pretty good on hills until, I put a cab o/c on back.

I found that I ended up falling in to the slow lane behind those slower moving 18 wheelers where you don't get much air to keep your motor from running very cool.

Once in a while I could pass the trucks whit a good running start until,
I went to a 390.
Now if you live in a state that has very few mountains or where you'll be doing most of your camping at then you may be satisfied with that I-6 and the little more gas mileage.
But when gas went up to $5.68 per gal. I sold the camper.
I then just added a camper shell
I've since installed the dodge 5spd o/d tranny

Prater's pick up pals

My boys! Darker blue is Mr Blue my '69 240 I-6 3 on the tree. Lighter blue is Blue too (or two) Twoie for short! He is a 302 4 on the floor granny tranny! He has also been modified with power steering and power assist front disk brakes from a late dent side. These guys work pullin horses and other projects! They are also daily drivers. I primarily drive Mr Blue, my wife Twoie. You can see the whole collection in one pic.

Nice straight looking body, you made a good score.

What's your plans for it?

Mine also started out as a brush fire rig for a rural Washington Fire Department. Call me biased, but I think the 1970 grill is one of the best of the 5th generation trucks.

Farms are a great background for these old Ford trucks!

this is actually going to be my daily for the time being. Restoring a 76 #dentside right now. I'm think a nice cam and redo the interior and lower her a little. But nothing big yet.

I love the picture of the green truck with the classic trail bike in the bed at what I assume is sunrise, absolutely beautiful.

Indeed! Good eyes! The plates are collectors from the same era and only require a one time fee. I found the 1975 tab on eBay. The pictures were taken last summer.
