99 rust repair / salvage

I folks, My name is Phil & I am in the midst of rust repair salvage. My frame is bad & I'm doing what I can with it & addressing many issues at the same time. I'm doing this as the money comes in and it's turned into a pretty big project for me. I'm gonna post some pics. I hope you all enjoy them.

I had to make a "X" member out of 2" X 3" box tubing & 1/4" plate steel. Also a spare tire lift rack & I'm also adding a piece of 3" channel across the rear of the frame rails. Grade 8 hardware where I can.

I used Corraseal rust converter. Then a couple coates of duplicolor engine enamel (held up to the weather better than any of the other paints I tried). Corraseal worked great.

That looks fantastic! Nice work. I cannot believe how much rust is visible in the grass after scaling it.

If you are going to have red shocks, you need to also paint the calipers red.
