Hard to find combo

Finding real hard to find a 2015 crew cab with a 6 1/2 ' box.
This is in northwest Ohio.
Did ford have a problem with this combo?
There are a lot of trucks with the short box, but it just won't work for me.

We had the same issue when we were looking earlier this year. Zero long boxes in the whole state of California. We had to order ours because the dealers don't want to stock the long box in their on-lot inventory. If you want/need the long box, you will probably have to order it.

I was lucky that my dealer had one in stock when I was looking and I bought it right away

There are plenty of other hard to find combo's. Like this one:

2015 or 2016, XLT, SuperCab, Blue Jeans, 5.0, 4X4, 3.31 locker, 302A, FX4, Extended Range Fuel Tank. Wheel Well Liner. That's all. Nothing more. Extended searching yields only less optioned or totally over optioned trucks. Why is this combo so tough to find?

It is mind boggling that 5.5' beds are the norm now. I seriously doubt the new majority of buyers even realize they are buying a truck!

Because it makes financial sense. Dealers by me are mostly filled with bloated platinum 5.5 beds. More options, more markup....

Exactly, a dealer needs to cater to his market.

A couple weeks ago we went to my daughter's college softball tournament at a small school in the western part of Virginia, farm country. All the Ford dealers there stocked duallies, stake trucks, chassis cabs, Platinum F-150's and a ton of high end to entry level trucks. Clearly his market demands this.

Yep and that's why I've deferred buying a new truck. I'd buy the perfect truck off the lot if they if had it. I may eventually build and price one for a special delivery. I refuse to buy something that's loaded up with options that I don't need or want. Why don't dealers recognize the potential of this segment of the market? Greed kills sales.

More people are willing to pay for options they don't want that to spend $40-50k and have it be missing something. The number of deals lost because a unit doesn't have navigation boggles the mind. It's not really about greed on our part. Not too many people pay full sticker for a Lariat, so the options do help to make the discounts bigger, the Ford is the winner there.

If you tell me more specifically what you're looking for I wouldn't mind pointing you in the right direction. Just doing a crew 4x4 with 6.5 bed gives me over 10 pages of results for Ohio....

That's the problem; Super Crews are all over the place. This is what I'd like to see:

2016, XLT, SuperCab, 6.5 bed, Blue Jeans, 5.0, 4X4, 3.31 locker, 302A, FX4, Extended Range Fuel Tank, Wheel Well Liner. The only thing I'm not sure about is the 40/20/40 with or without console.

My mistake, I was thinking crew in my head. Yeah, Ford doesn't even let me search for 163 WB SC trucks. Not sure if that means they are completely out or what. I presume they simply didn't make many so they pulled it down. You'll have to order a '16.

It's either bone stock XL work trucks or loaded KR and Platinums near me.

I'm leaning towards a 2016 XLT Blue Jean Two Tone 302a, 5.0v8, extended range tank, factory spray in bedliner and 20" wheels.

Does the XLT come with floor shifter or only column shifter? I swear when bringing up the build on ford.com it showed floor shifter on XLT, but now it doesn't.

I just started shopping and up here in northern MI my dealer has twice as many 250-350 than 150's. All the 150's are 5 1/2' boxes but a good mix of all trim models and engines. I also want an XLT Scab 5.0L, 3:55, 302A, 36 gallon tank, tow package with brake controller. My salesman found a similar one in Dearborn a few weeks ago coming off the line but it had a 3:31 axle.

My friend has a KR Screw with a 6.5 box but he always orders what he wants.

I ordered my 1999 F350, it was a fun experience to get exactly what I wanted and I got it for the same price I would have anything on the lot.

I'll likely custom order again, leaning towards a 2016 F150 versus waiting for the 2017 Superduty.

If I do order an XLT with 302a i'll immediately swap out the grille for the 3 bar version
