Cool IDLE BUT NO REV

the back story is this. 99 sd 5.4. engine went, i replaced it with a03 5.4. new iac, gasket set (intake upper and lower) and most sensors. new oil pump and pickup too. I got it running took it for a test run, maybe a 1/4 mile. shut it off for about 5 min. would not restart, towed it home. it then sat a few hours and started. but would not run idle but not run. i changed the ecu and nothing. i the noticed fuel in my oil. i swapped the intake and ecu from the 03. nothing. had my intake looked at by a machine shop and was told it is OK. i put my 99 intake ecu and wire harness back in. idle all day until i give it throttle, then it dies. fuel pressure holds at 60psi at the rail with no leak down. i left the gage on for a few hours to check. fuel Gage stays on full though. could it be a bad fuel pump? i have no idea where to look or what to look for any more. any ideas. I'M AT WITS END PLEASE HELP!!

My guess would be TPS or MAF sensor?

I've accidentally left one or the other unplugged at various times and had similar issues (minus the Fuel in the oil). Though it always threw a CEL light / code too..

Check the wiring to the TPS. I once swapped out a throttle body assembly and the wiring was different from one year to the next although the electrical plug still fit. I swapped two of the wires in the plug and all was well.

Do you have a halfway good OBDII scan tool? If I were you, I would get in data mode and look from the OBDII at the angle on the TPS. Truck doesn't have to be running, so you can just make sure it works. The TPS is fused separately, so it typically sets a code if that fuse blows. I don't think the TPS would make it "not run" so I don't think that's the problem. You need to look at the MAF reading and see what it's reading during idle and what happens when you increase the throttle. Somebody here can tell you "normal" behavior for one that runs. I could do that for you.
