Overpressure degas bottle

Gentlemen, long story - months ago I started loosing coolant when under a load or accelerating hard. Put test gauge on degas bottle and it would go up to 16lbs when you accelerated releasing coolant. Took it to the diesel guy, he said he tested for hydro carbons in the exhaust and concluded blown head gasket. Did bullet-proof job; new heads, gaskets, studs, EGR delete, oil cooler, water pump, fan clutch. $6000 worth. Today, it does the same thing. After picking it up recently it blew the hose off the bottom of the degas tank and lost all the coolant. I filled it back up and put a test gauge on the degas tank and its running 13/14 lbs when cruising; 15 and up when accelerating hard at 20lbs of boost. Can someone help me from going insane over this truck? What the heck is going on? New heads, gaskets, EGR delete???

Sorry for my rant - but I can't use my truck after $6,000 in bills

Mark

Ouch! Sounds like something went wrong with the headgaskets job or the EGR delete. Hopefully, the deleted. Is it a stealt delete with plugs welded in? Any warranty on the work?

Hate hearing things like this... Hopefully you have warranty... Stories like these is why I had Ford do my job 2 years parts and labor unlimited mileage. Good luck and hope it's only the EGR.

Have you looked in the intake where the egr goes yet? I'm guessing it's blocked off or the egr valve was left in place... I can't emagine. Sorry to hear about the truck. hope it's a simple fix

The mechanic is still willing to work on it. EGR has steel plug on it from what I can see. I'm trying to come up with possibilities to help. I don't understand all the possibilities at this stage.

I really hate the steel plug method of "deleting the EGR". It works fine if done right and welded properly, but it can also be done wrong.

I would personally start with the EGR, Keep us posted on what your mechanic finds. Do you know if or how he prepped the block upon reassembling. Scotch brite pad, stone, razor blade ect.....
