Hi, i tried to get emission test on a 2006 f150 5.4 and they cant do the test as " OBD monitor not ready, does anyone know how to do a force test or if anyone else has experienced this and what to do, any help would be much appreciated

 

Typically it is due to a battery or code reset. The computer needs to relearn, the best way to do this is to drive the truck, it is best to do several on and off's with good mileage per drive, each drive with more than enough to get the engine up to operating temperature.

 

The OBD monitor tests are cleared whenever the diagnostic codes are cleared. You'll need to do varied driving for a few days for each of tests to clear by themselves. For me, I've seen them clear after about 100miles. Sometimes sooner depending on how you drive
