I had an 02 v10 cc sb 4x4 for a little while that was an ex state truck with 293k and ran great. Gas was so high that I ended up selling it cheap, also hated how the v10 sounded with a throaty exhaust on it. Now that I have another super duty with the 5.4 I'm missing the big 6.8

Well, this is encouraging to me, as my 2002 v10 only has 138,000 miles on it. Apparently it has a whole lot of life left?

I'd be interested to see how many miles you can get out of it before a rebuild. It you do used oil analysis on a fairly regular basis you may be able to catch a potential issue before the engine would have a failure. The transmission would be more of a concern to me.

My 04' only has 76,500 on it and I hope I'll be able to get even half those miles out of the original engine and trans. My dad just traded in his 03' with 128,500 on it for a 6.2l, he misses his old truck.
