2007 F150 4x4, 33s vs. 35s gas mileage?
Hey All,
I was debating the gas mileage difference between the two tires, 33 vs. 35 (same width, same rim).
Anyone running a 4.6L 4X4 auto with 33s or 35s?
Any significant cut in gas mileage? My mechanic friend wants me to go 6" lift with 35s;
But I was thinking 33s, he laughed and said it wouldn't look right.
Thanks for any input
Have s great one!

I agree it wouldn't look right. You can easily run a 33 at factory height. They look a little small on my leveled truck. You will take more of a hit in power and mpg's the larger you go though. If you are dead set on 6" of lift I would plan on changing your differential gears and going with 35's.

Thanks for the input,
I'm currently running 32" BFG KO LTs; which are heavy tires for their size.
I figure 35" pizza cutters would look nice with a 6" lift. I haven't made up my mind on the 6" lift yet.
Do you think the 35" would be a severe difference to the 32"? As far as needing to re-gear the diffs?
The truck runs the 32" BFG KOs with ease, no strain getting up to speed on the road.
Off road, the truck will run like a scalded dog.
I don't know what diff. gears are in it now.
That 281 or (4.6L) surprised the heck out of me!

After researching more on tire sizes and gear ratios.
I decided that I CAN NOT afford to put a 6" lift on, with 35" tires, with new rims and re-gearing the diffs.
I guess I will be looking at 2" levelling with Fox, with new UCAs. I can keep my OEM rims on the truck; will not have to re-gear the diffs.
I love the look of 6" or higher lifts.
It ends-up costing WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!
Thanks y'all for the input and help,
