Is there a decent bulb change only mod for the '11 up fog/driving lights. I'm aware of the entire assembly change to LEDs that are a lot more then I want both in lumen output and high cost. Currently I have the OEM 9145 bulbs in place - and those are about as useless as a flickering candle. Will any of the normal halogen headlight bulbs work as a plug and play? Is the wiring heavy enough if there is a good lamp that can be used?
Then there are the crappy headlights ............... That's for another day
I bought a kit that was simply a black n white box marked LED. It was the H10 bulb that came with the little box and it plugged right in. Quick n simple.

OK so just the bulb, not a heat sink and an adapter wire of some sort. Thanks

The H10 bulb comes in three flavors - the 9140 (40W), 9145 (45W) and 9155 (55W).
You should be able to safely substitute the 9155 to gain 10 more watts.

Reason: Yes Dave, you are right!

I think you meant a 9155 which is 55W. Sounds like ~20% more power requirements - and might just be too much and melt the front lens if not the wiring!!
This does give me a little more info to do some research though. Thanks
There is some cost associated with it, but its not too bad. Other than that, I think you have to go with something like the Rigid DOT approved fog lights....
I did some lighting upgrades on my ATV, and I found the LED replacement made a HUGE difference in light output. This was especially true in high/low beam combinations lights because high beam was both high and low turned on. I documented these changes in a build thread on the Suzuki forum. The head light upgrade starts here: 2008 King Quad 750 AXi Lighting Upgrades - Suzuki ATV Forum
Here is a little sample.... (I should mention that I did change the pod bulb from low beam all the time to high beam, but the difference should still be noticeable).
Now you can see the difference between halogen and LED.
I've been looking at the Superbright website at those very kits that you linked but since I haven't spent much time (none!!) looking at the OEM fog light assemblies so am not sure that they will fit plus the heat sink. The LED driver -- that's another thing to wonder where it goes?? I guess that could be hidden somewhere as well. Maybe for 90/100 bucks I can take a chance.
Nice job on the quad upgrade I'm not 'into' quads but after seeing literally thousands in and around Moab, Utah last month, could be converted from street rods --------- nah. I was surprised at how large some are now - small car size.
Thank you. My buddy has a Can-Am 1000 and it has 30" tires and 88hp. Its basically my Ranger on a 2500lb diet....
Anyway, yes. That is something to consider. It looks like from these photos that you may have to do a little bracket modifying in order to get the heat sink to clear. Or, order the set with the flexy heatsink. I would mount the drives to the back side of the bracket or inside the bumper itself. They should be waterproof. Other than that, the bulb should go right in the housing without any issues. And they produce a lot less heat than halogen, so you know that the housing will be fine.
Could be an interesting weekend project at some point and I would imagine a greatly appreciated write up for the forum
