Will a Chelsea PTO unit off of a T8 work on a T98?

No, the T9 is a spur gear transmission and the T98 has helical gears. For some reason the T9 transmissions are marked with T8 part numbers, but are listed as T9 Warner transmissions in all the literature. In 1956 Warner changed the helix angle direction of the T 98, so you must also have the correct PTO for a T98.

 

I just bought a T98 that has a PTO on it and I don't need it. I got the levers with it too. It was in a 1950 F6.


What is it worth? Got anything to trade?

 

Do you know anyone that has a T98 PTO now? Found a transmission to replace a 59T, but the PTO is missing.

 

Do you know if you need a PTO with forward and reverse?

Just need the PTO with one direction. Restoring a '50 F2 that was a Fire Chiefs truck with a water pump under the bed.
