Nice work so far, but I was surprised you did not replace that whole little panel on the inside front cab corner.

Looking good, but I don't think the cab will fit in that crate. At least you know where the bad spots are. There is an end to all the sanding and grinding but it is a long way out there for most of us.

Will look forward to seeing your progress with that engine and suspension. I've never heard of anyone successfully using anything but the Series2/3 & XJS versions. But where there's a will...

Good luck

I have reunited the cab with the chassis but just resting on blocks of wood for now.

I cut off a couple of the rivets holding the rear spring perch to the chassis, expecting to simply punch them out.... but found they still do not move, I couldnt find my drill, so i had to return to this great forum to find out how the springs are removed, the pins were driven out easily and rear axle was removed.

So now I have the Jag axle roughly in the position it needs to be. If it is fixed here it gives at least an inch of lift, so I am now considering how to modify the frame to give at least the original ride height, but I would prefer an inch or two drop.

All ideas welcome!
I have wrestled the rear axle from the Jaguar, and

What plans do you have for yours? I wanted a '53 as i prefer the cleaner front end look, but settled for the '54

I think Generally pinion angles point up to the front of the car and the engine should point down a bit.

In reality the angle of the pinion should match the angle of the engine and transmission to keep the system balanced at normal ride height.
