I installed a spoiler on my first car, a 1981 Camaro. That required 14 holes through the trunk lid and rear quarters. I had no template, the surface of the car was curved, and there were 3 parts that needed to line-up perfectly. Oh yeah, I was a dumb 17 year old kid with no experience, no internet to ask questions, and rudimentary tools. I squeezed a tube or two of silicone around and thru every hole and it worked out just fine. Everything aligned, there were no leaks, and no long-term rust from the holes.

You have alot more advantages and only lack a bit of confidence. Take your time and go for it.

Just do it, these Big ol' Trucks look weird without them IMO

My 1st SD 00' V10 did not have them so I installed them, honestly it wasn't that bad. Remove the Headliner, measure 100 times, drill once & I ran the + wire down the a-pillar to the parking light circuit.

My current 06' has them OE but I did drill a hole in the roof for my Wilson roof-mount CB Antenna. I have NEVER had any cab-lights or my CB antenna leak, knock on wood.

No rubber grommet necessary. The connector is actually inside the cab so the wires never cross metal outside of plastic.

The closed cell foam gaskets that come with the lights do a great job of sealing without silicone. All silicone will do is potentially create a path to the holes. Especially if you don't take sandpaper to the paint first.

I know this is an older thread. But if someone like myself stumbles across it as I did, there is a company trying to do just what the original poster was looking for! Check out their website. Wireless LED Running Lights by Cab Over America . I have been tinkering for years to do it myself with wireless charging coils, but it's still a pretty involved process. The cab over america company makes it quick and easy to get the look we all want with an easy install!

I know someone who had cab lights installed twice on two different trucks. I'll ask, but I think it was at the Ford dealership. Not sure how much they cost.

He had the smoked cab lights installed. I kinda like the amber best. IMO, white cab lights do not look good.

Just a bit of an FYI - those that run the forum aren't too keen on advertising products you're selling within the forums. I'm sure they'd be willing to work with you as a vendor if you contacted them though.
