Not sure if the bull was a standard Studebaker thing or just the artists adding flair?
The transfer case is all together and holding down the rolling cart, unfortunatly too many other things going on over the last year or so to get any more progress
. Last year had to rebuild the 5.9 cummins and reinstall in the 05 dodge 2500. And ive been working on a couple older commercial buildings on weekends and any other time i can manage to get them operational and leased.
The latest building shares a party wall with the old Studebaker bldg built in 189? I found the old artwork painted on the wall when up in the attic.
throw a back surgery in the mix 13 months ago and im starting to get a little done here and there on the F6 but not nearly enough.
No time to be bored. Haha

I found some free time to spend on Brutus so started started down the rabbit hole that is my front end. So far so good, nuts and bolts are breaking loose easily and disassembly is progressing quite well....that is until I got to the pivot pins. Gonna have to fasion a puller to get those things out.

I put together a tool ( described in the MH manuel as an alternative to the actual puller listed) for pulling the pivot pins on the steering knuckle. A 1/2 x3 inch fine thread (20) bolt, couple nuts and a large washer(2 inchish) with a 1/2 inch hole in it. Simple, even crude but very effective. Worked like a charm, both pins were out in 15 minutes and that's with taking time for pics.
Forgot to mention the 3/4in pipe with 1 1/2 ID

No luck finding where the pin...s go!! That's right I found another one in the grease, they look to be two separate pins. They were escentuallly laying in the bottom of the steering knuckle but I don't see where they could've come from. On another note, my axle has undergone major surgery sometime in the past.
Second pin on the left, same size and length as the other

Ouch. Am I seeing right that the inner bearing chewed on the case? If so, machine work ahead, and metal fragments everywhere. Guess the fragments got into the bearing and chewed it up. Chuck had to replace my rear axle housing because it was hurt, but I don't recall him saying there were heroic measures needed on my front. I think you're pulling the axle. Stu
