Truck looses power and dies on highway
Hey guys new to the forum here and could use some help. Not new to the diesel scene but the Injection system on the power strokes is new to me over my old old 6.9 IDI. So heres what i have 96 F250 CCSB 4x4 E4OD. My problem is this, While driving down the highway above 2k rpm or more than 65 mph the truck will start to loose power. Its gradual with it floored but will slowly drop speed to about 35 then after down shifting it dies. Then takes a good 5 minutes worth of cranking to get it fired back up again. Then when it does start it has a hiddeious knock to it until it smooths out with some throttle. Then can take back off and run again. But under 65 MPH or 2k rpm it wont die and runs all day long. Ive noticed it did this before a few times when it was way low on oil. My fault sometimes i forget to check it. but after pulling the dipstick when it did this it was full this time. It has been a while since my last service and plan to do an oil change in the next day or two. Im going to replace the cam sensor tomorrow its had the idle romps on start up for a while now and scanner said it was bad. hopefully that takes care of that issue. Ive also noticed the hard line into the bottom of the fuel bowl on the driver side is dripping fuel. about once a rotation it will almost miss like a bad injector but when it does this it spits a bit of fuel. Could this be related. Also has a bullydog 6 position chip as well plus banks intercooler and banks hot side. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Sound like you are running out of fuel. I would for one change oil. These engines like clean fresh and topped off oil. Then I would be tracking down the fuel leak. It maybe your fuel pump failing. And lastly if you are throwing a code for cps swap it out with a ford or ih one.
Well cam sensor did nothing for idle romps what other sensors would fix idle romps also what should fuel pressure from pump be at idle wondering if fuel pump is weak and not giving enough fuel to supply the thirsty 10mpg bitch over 65 mph

Have you changed the oil yet? Bad oil can make these trucks act crazy. That may help your romps.
Sounds like your current problem is that you are running out of fuel. Either from a weak fuel pump or old fuel filter. Check the filter first and see if it needs replacement. I think fuel pressure on a stock truck is somewhere around 40-45 at idle.
Something to try is the next time it shuts down, just leave the truck off and pull the filter cover. If the fuel bowl is empty then you have confirmed that you have a fuel supply problem
