2006 F350 DRW Crew Cab Lariot 6.0 diesel shop manual ?
What is the best reference for working on a 2006 F350 6.0 Diesel Crew Cab DRW Lariot? Is there a shop manual for the entire truck or just the motor. Are there still shop manuals or is everything online these days. Just drained the front and rear diff"s and not sure the fill guidelines.

Just a heads up. You will find the Chiltons and Haynes manuals for the Superdutys are identical down to the pictures and are of very little use.
Alldata is good, easy to navigate and good info. The Ford service CD's are better but I've always said I'd rather have internet connection and access to FTE than a manual. Specific info can be hard to find sometimes but it's all here and if you get in a jam there's lots of good folks here to help you along.

Paper shop workbooks are always good.
You could not pay me to use Chiltons and Haynes. There are better uses for paper. TP?
The Ford shop CDs tend to be expired but are very easy to work with/
They like Windows XP and use a tool called RunAsDate - Run a program with the specified date/time
Just look at the date on the disk and use that as your setback date.
The cool thing is you don't have to change the system date to use it.
I'll have to find the info on this one but you can move the files to a hard disk
and run the program from the computer and no CD in it.

EDIT : Found It.
There is a lot of info in this but read the top half and it will make sense.
Make a folder named "XX-XX Disk" inside the TSO folder where the Service Dvd was installed (Usually c:\TSO)
right click on the file "tsobrowser.ini" and select edit
(Make a copy of the file for safekeeping first)
Change the path string at the top of the file from this:
07_08=10.0~3~E:~stock\home.htm~2007-2008 Service Information~October 2006
To This:
07_08=10.0~1~C:\TSO\XX-XX Disk~stock\home.htm~2007-2008 Service Information~October 2006
basically this means you are redirecting the path from "E:\" (your DVD drive) to "C:\TSO\Disk"
Multiple Disk Example TSOBROWSER.INI FILE:
--------------------------------------------------------
[volumes]
default_volume=
always_show_volumelist=0
07_08=10.0~1~C:\FORD\TSO\07-08 Disk~stock\home.htm~2007-2008 Service Information~October 2006

; each installed volume has an entry in this section
; the name of the entry is the logical volume (like 92CAR)

The DVD will set you back about $45.00 or less on Ebay.
The paper ones will be at of over $100.00 or more. There are 4 total
books. 2 service 1 wiring diagrams and the Black Book
that is the diagnostics. You get it all with the DVD and can
print what you need or save as a PDF for later use.
Workshop manuals and I really missed on the price. $199.00

Here is the Black Book aka : Powertrain Control Emissions

You have to watch it on this one there is also the F650-F750 and
they tend to be a lot less and not cover what you need.
Or the DVD. Best bang for the buck.

Thanks Sean!
Noticed something odd on the DVD listing:
"****These DVD's are date sensitive, so to get this to work on your PC, you must change your PC Date, to month/year DVD was produced. Will not work with Windows Vista / 8."
So these only work with Windows XP and you have to set the clock back?? Is that normal or does this guy have a bootleg copy he's selling?

Go back and read post #10 about the RunAsDate program. No need to change clock.
The software likes XP it will run on 7. I don't have a copy of 8 to test it on.
These are real expired service DVDs. The one thing you can't do is use the OASIS
look up and on the older disks you can't look up TSBs. You need a dealership ID.
All the PDF's that I post with manual info comes from one of these DVDs.
