00 F250 drivetrain R&R

Hey guys. Thought id share one of my on-going projects. Last winter i took my truck to North Dakota to help a close friend of mine get his carpet business up and going. Didnt think twice about doing anything to my truck, it ran great so why bother? Well needless to say i shoulda done a coolant flush. Ended up with a frozen truck but no freeze plugs gone. Thawed it out in the garage and thought all was good till 4 months later when i spun a bearing. Found out all my oil was dumping into the radiator . So i called some buddies and found someone with a low mileage 2 valve 5.4 out of a bus that had rolled. Stole it for a couple hundred bucks. Thought all was good and id just swap it out and be back on the road until i pulled the motor. I somehow missed a transmission bolt even after checking 4 times. Ended up missing a chunk of my 4R100. So it now became a trans swap as well. So after locating another low mileage one 3 hours north of me, I made the drive and once again walked away a couple hundred bucks lighter in the wallet but with a trans and a brand new 6 bolt torque converter. The motor i had bought came with a 6 bolt flywheel so i lucked out. This brings me to where i currently sit. With all the parts to do it but just havent finished it yet. Lots of little stuff that i wanna tackle before the installation. Heres a couple pics from the tear down..

Found a nest under the intake.

All ready to pull..

It looks like you've got some work to do there!

Just watch out for the "snowball"/"while I'm at it" effect. That can turn a big job into a huge job.
