Motor mount quandary

So as of right now I feel like a complete dummy. I am looking at the transdapt motor mounts for a straight six to 289 transplant. Im also looking at ordering a mustang II front suspension kit from fulltilt that will box a length of my frame. Will i have issues intstalling those mounts. And what will I need to do seeing as my truck which is a 62 f100 only has the front motor mount?

Welcome to FTE. You already have a thread going on this and should continue your questions there.

Does the MII kit include motor mounts or provisions for them? There are usually two items involved with a pickup. One is the towers welded to the frame. The other are the rubber/metal motor mounts themselves.

In either case, once that MII kit is welded in place, then you can position and weld in towers or pads for the motor mounts to bolt to.

Easy for me to say.....

Good luck with your project.

And yes, the OEM mounts are not going to work, so get out the gas ax and cut 'em off.

I do not believe there are any provisions for mounts. The kit just includes the boxing plates, a crossmemeber, shock towers, control arms and spindles. Ive tried researching videos and what have you as to where the mounts are supposed to directly mount to the frame so i can reference the boxing plates to the motor mounts. Ive done motor swaps but only apples with apples. Not apples to cantelope.
