1957 F100 Marmon Herrington on Evilbay

Did you guys see the so called 57 F100 MH on ebay? I sent the guy a message asking why he thought it was a MH and he told me he did his research and it has all the correct pieces. It looks to me like factory 59-60 Ford gear in a 57 shortbox. And for the record I do not know the seller and have probably pissed him off.

I didn't see any badging in the pics. Was anything said about that? I believe I may have seen this listed and portrayed as a M-H a few years ago. But with no proof of its history, just empty words. Stu

I asked about the badges, he did not reply to that question. He also said while doing his research that it might be a "MH kit". He also said that MH did ALOT of gmc truck in the 50's. I didn't respond to any of those claims, it was late and would have probably sounded bad. It is a pretty clean truck with period correct gear. Ford gear!

He updated the description at the bottom, and says that there are no badges, and it could be a 57 with 59-60 gear.

If the original purchaser requested that Ford send the truck to Marmon-Herrington to be converted to 4WD, the DSO code on the Rating Plate would have 4 numbers denoting a Domestic Special Order.

Seller posted a pic of the Rating Plate, DSO is blank. There are no 'how to operate the 4WD' plaques on the dash. Every M-H conversion I've seen had at least one.

More than likely, a previous owner converted this '57 to 4WD using 1959/60 genuine Ford parts.

Totally agree ND. After I seen the listing I was thinking I have never seen a 57 or 58 half ton MH. I have seen napco ford half tons in those years but never a MH. I did a google image search and also came up with nothing. It just got me thinking what front axle MH would have used in there version of a 57-58 half ton or 3/4 ton.
