The bolts are what came with the Yukon rebuild kit. They are 1-1/4" long. I'll have to go to the hardware store and get 10 new grade 8 bolts for it. I already had to drill out the three 1/4" screws that hold the trac loc pieces together. They got sheared off and hammered things up. Luckily I was able to get them out and re thread what's left of the holes.

I'm working on cleaning the oil & steel slurry/mud out of everything. Gotta clean the clutches and spider gears yet. After that's all clean I can start reassembling it all, clearancing the new case of needed, and then set up the gears again. All time consuming stuff...

I'm hoping to get it back together on Monday night, but if not, Wednesday.

And if anybody wants a 3.00 gear set and carrier, I've got one.

Your case and my wrecked rad and fan are the good start to a scrap metal pile. If we break enough stuff maybe we'll have enough scrap metal to get enough cash for a case of beer! That'll make us feel better.

Sounds like a plan! Maybe we should start a "scrapped" thread lol

It's back together! Waiting for the loctite and RTV to cure before I fill it with oil.

I don't know much about Loc-Tite but I do know there are different types. I still have the first tube I bought over 30 years ago. For some reason it never empties. Anyway, I was in a bearing shop some 10 years ago and they had a small box of tiny tubes of Loc-Tite. I figured I'd need one so I grabbed it. When the guy rang it up the price was like $20-30 for something like a quarter of an ounce.

Needless to say I didn't get it but when I asked him why it was so expensive he said it was some kind of super Loc-Tite for something I can't even begin to remember.

To make a short story long, I guess I'm saying not all Loc-Tites are created equal.

All done and back together and driving. Went around the block a few times and all seems normal.

Could have and would have had this all done sooner but work and school take up a lot of time...

I can't believe you didn't hear that grinding through the case??
Is Yukon good American made? I've been having issues with fasteners since they all moved manufacture to china, even Fastenall.

I think Yukon is pretty good. The carrier said assembled in USA, which means it could be made anywhere, or several places.

9 inch

I feel your pain on that one. That is why I am using safety wire bolts with loctite green.
