On the woody front, I got on the horn and ordered 6) 3" x 6" x 10' eastern maple planks to mill into woody parts. They deliver to the islands every other Wednesday and I'm stalled to install my long roof stringers until I have both door posts and rear cornerposts to attach them to. The posts are all a bit under 5' so I'll get two for one. All extra will be door parts and everything else needed to build a woody or is it a woodie? I have no idea, I've never built one before. Never really looked at one either that I remember..........
Thanks Rusty! In that case here's a picture I got tonight of my order of maple. Consider it a woodie kit. Pretty exciting because it will no longer just be mock-ups!
Like the ethanol in our wonderful new gas, the alcohol in the Jack attracts moisture, which stimulates the surface rusting process. Old family history dictates the distribution of each element in the secret process.
I found this pic. I wonder what the plans were for this unit? Maybe a woodie. I see that it has a panel truck fuel tank. Also an interesting backdrop with extra parts etc.
Very cool picture! There was no text along with it? I wish my shop was that clean, but now we gotta spend the weekend getting the house ready for all 4 kids and their spouses, significant others, kids etc for Thanksgiving. Since the last installment I have been fabricating hardware that will hold all the wood pillars to the floor assembly. Can't really start the six maple posts until the 'foundation' is in place. The needed brackets, top and bottom are the type of project I can do one little bit at a time. When completed I can make a good run at the main body parts, but that looks like after the Holidays at this point. After making wooden stuff for my kids at Christmas for so many years I think they expect some wood toys for their kids now. This is my youngest who is now 21. Does this ever end?
