Add-a-leafs or helper springs

94 f150 2wd auto long bed. Going to beaf the suspension up a little for towing and hauling. I plan on running the moog 844 f250 coil springs up front. I'm looking at the skyjacker r225 add-a-leafs for the rear and the hellwig 991 helper springs. They are about the same price. I'm leaning towards the add-a-leafs simply for the 1.5-2" lift I will get because the front will come up about the same with the f250 coil springs. Any input on these two products. Is one better than the other? I'm also going to be installing new shocks. Any budget friendly shock y'all recommend? This is not a daily driver, just a Home Depot runner and occasional camper toter, so I don't want to put 300 dollars into shocks. I know I will need an alighnment after the coil spring install, but it needs one now.

I put a set of hellwig 991's on a 99 e-150 conversion van and I have been very happy with them. They lifted the back of the van up 1.5in and even with them cranked as tight as they will get it still rides well. We used the van to tow a large pop-up 4 big dudes and all of our stuff cross country with this set up and it worked well. Before that it would be bottoming out over any bumps. Check amazon for them they are usually pretty cheap. As far as shocks go I'm a fan of KYB's. I've had good luck with the GR-2's and Gas Adjust on trucks.

A 2wd could probably use an added leaf anyway as they often got the lighter spring set to begin with, but you can get added weight control and an adjustable amount of lift with the Helwig setup.

I'm sure my truck got the lighter spring set. It doesn't take much to make it squat. I guess I could do the add-a-leafs, and if I need more, I could still do the helpers?

Do you have the factory overloads on the bottom of the pack? My 2wd drive does and I love it, smooth ride unloaded and nice and stiff when they engage, it actually rides like a brick outhouse because the overload is nice and thick. It engages when the truck is just a tad above level, but I still have the nose down ride of a stock 2wd so it may look like it's got a loaded diaper if the truck has been leveled out

I will have to check when I get home, but I'm 99% sure I do not have the factory overloads. It is a plain xl truck and had the 3.08 gear.

The pics are a little deceiving, because it's not level ground, but it's the only ones I had. I plain on running a tire 1 1/2" taller to fill the wheel wells back up. Has anyone here ever run the skyjacker add-a-leafs? If so how was ride quality when unloaded? These are suppose to ride decent being a full length spring.
