Thinking of selling my '84 Bronco. What's it worth?
Hello all,
After much difficult consideration, my wife and I are considering selling her '84 Bronco.
It's in extremely nice shape, we're the third owners, and it was originally purchased here locally back in '84, so it hasn't gone far. I believe it has only 130k miles on it.
300 I-6
NP-435 manual transmission
NP208 transfer case
8.8" 3.55 rear
New 31" BFG A/T
Bench seat
Quad Shocks
It has an Offenhauser C intake with a Holley 4bbl.
Retrofitted DuraSpark II ignition
I've also installed EFI era exhaust manifolds and a 2.5" stainless exhaust with a high flow cat and turbo muffler.
Everything works.
However, no real amenities like A/C, cruise, etc. Manual windows.
The body is very straight with little to no rust. The interior is in excellent condition aside from some wear on the driver's seat.
It drives and handles extremely well, and with the 4bbl carb and the 3.55 gearing, it pulls hard all the way from 0 to 80. At 60 - 70mph, it gets around 16 - 17mpg.
Drove it to California and back last year (about 1500 miles) and it was a comfortable, easy drive.
Thoughts on an asking price? I know it isn't your run of the mill beater Bronco.
Thanks!

I know, it hurts! My wife says she can't be there when it goes.
However, with my Bronco (which is truly family and isn't going anywhere) and with getting a new car, I know that the '84 will just sit. We'd drive it just to drive it, which makes it rather pointless to have.
I've never seen much like it locally. A 300 equipped Bronco occasionally but it's usually trashed. Definitely not one with a 4bbl conversion and performance work, and not one so straight.

I'd hold out for $4,500. Advertise it nation-wide in AutoTrader or something. Maybe Hemmings ...
It's too nice to sell low and you need to find it the right home
The only downside is you can't sell it here (Kalifornia Komunist Kollective) To many mods that are not CARB legal. So your biggest market is off the list. Still, someone will want it and give you a fair price. Especially if you drive it to the delivery point to show that it's all running well
You might get more money than that in Alaska. You willing to go the Al-Can? If so, advertise it on Craigslist (CL) in Anchorage
If not, at least on CL in Seattle and Portland

That is one good looking bronco. I've had a lot of vehicles come and go, but I won't ever get rid of my bronco. It's definitely family and will be passed down to one of my boys when he's old enough to drive. I just need to get a second one to pass down to my other son.....

I think the hard part I'm having with coming up with a price is simply that there aren't any like it. At least that I've ever seen for sale. 300s are pretty rare. Then a manual trans. Then, custom performance work. And in really nice shape.
Fixing a few issues on it first, like the tear in the driver's seat and the cracked windshield from the recent chip-sealing (), and then I'll be posting it up here/ebay/craigslist..

Well, the time has come and it's up for sale.
The ad is up in the for sale section on this site!
Spread the word if you know anyone interested. I really want it to go to someone who will appreciate it. It's not one to take out mudding and wheeling.
I've cleaned it up quite a bit from those pictures I posted above!
