Question for those who have done the crown Vic swap

I'm buying a f100 soon. I'm going to through our winter get everything then spend a week off working on the truck but I have some questions.

1) do I need to cut the tubes out of the cv to put between the frame rails of the f100 or can I use some tubing inhave and just weld the nut for the bolts to go through?
2) the wheels im looking at getting are a 18x8 and I want to run a 225/55/18 tire would there be any rubbing issues?
3) for the rear end do the 2003 cv rear ends come with a lsd? Like the police ones?

I'm about two weeks away from doing mine. Its easy to get the sleeves from the doner C/V. I used a hole saw on my drill to get them out. They are only welded on the top of the C/V frame. You can use tubing and a nut but I think the factory sleeves look better.

From what I've seen, if the rims will fit a newer mustang, they SHOULD work. Backspacing is always an issue. I'll be using 18x9.5's with 275/40/18's all around. They have 6.25" backspace (if I remember right) and dry fitting them without a spring, I only had them rub at full droop, turned all the way ( the strut will limit the droop in the truck). I won't know if they rub the fenders until I install everything. What is the backspace on the rims you want?

The police CV did have a lsd, civilian CV did not.

Nice. I just didn't want to do the staggerd tire thing because its going to be a daily and I want to have a spare that's the same as all the others. And I found about the brake lines there's an adapter you can buy to go from the metric if the cv to the sae of the 100. I found this guy on you tube awesome videos. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCU6YlNOx3Q-w6mdFSnQ8jbQ

You can get the tubes from the CV as mentioned above, I had tubes cut and used nuts on mine I wasn't smart enough to grab the CV ones.

I am running 255/55/18's on an 18x8 rim with no issues.

As for the rear check widths I thought the CV was too wide for the trucks.

Thanks I'll cut them out with a plasma cutter. And thanks for the info in the wheels and tires.
