yeah i didn't care for my ranger either.was early 80's.them little 4 bangers were too under powered back then though, nothing like todays 4 cyls.but they were a bit to cramped too.
makes no matter though guys.they would each look ugly now.until ford gets off the dodge copy cat style of the late 90's im afraid they're all just going to look like crap.

. Yes, it's the same one being sold overseas right now. I could see Ford bringing back the Ranger but according to Ford, the Bronco might be a different issue, as SUV sales have declined.

Ranger introduced in March 1982 as a 1983 model. So while the F150 was being sold, Ranger sales didn't hurt F150 sales since the F150 has been the #1 seller since at least 1979.
Did'ja notice that Chevy/GMC have recently re-introduced new mid-sized pickups? Must not be worried that they'll affect full sized pickup sales.

"General Motors saw a huge gap in the pickup market and last year rolled out its all-new midsize Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon (essentially a fancier version of the Colorado). Here’s how that bet panned out:
Chevy couldn’t build the little trucks fast enough, and in no time GM had a real challenger to the Toyota Tacoma, the longtime leader in the category. The smaller pickups also didn’t seem to tow any buyers away from Chevy’s bigger trucks, the Silverado and GMC Sierra.
Not surprisingly, Ford is thinking about restarting the Ranger and chasing GM back into the smaller pickup market. Four years ago, the decision to park the Ranger appeared prudent and disciplined. But it came in concert with a rare set of conditions in the U.S. car market: a real estate boom, a big drop in gas prices, stagnantly low interest rates. Ford could probably make a pickup out of old Pintos in this environment, and Americans would buy it."
I don't know about the "old pinto" bit...

I don't agree with your analogy.

GM hasn't had the best selling anything so that is a moot point.

And if you factor in GMCs sales numbers, GM beats ford by quite a bit
