What kind of Cetane do you use?

I have been using Royal Purple Maxtane. Just curious of what you all are using and if you see or notice a difference when using it.

I did not see a MPG difference but my diesel only has 15k on it so it is still being broke in.

How often do you use cetane? On every fill up or once at oil change?

Ford PM-22.
Its cheap enough and recommended by Ford. And it lets the water separator do its job. I guess you do not want an additive that is an emulsifier.

Most definitely not! DEmulsifier only.

I like Opti-Lube.

Been using XPD in my 6.0L for years. Ran two tanks of it thru my 6.7 so far. Don't really notice much of a difference, but I know it's adding lubricity and doing other stuff that's good for diesels.

Thinking about trying a combination of their Boost and XL formulas in the future when my XPD runs out. Get the lubricity AND a healthy cetane boost.

I use the Motorcraft pm22 from the dealer. Use a little every fill up. This is my first diesel and did not know about cetane booster but read a lot about it here on FTE. Here in my area, the pm22 from the dealer is the same price or sometimes a little cheaper than the aftermarket stuff.

Exactly correct on using diesel additives that demulsify water. This is especially true with HPCR systems. If you run an additive that disperses water in those systems, you may have serious issues with your injectors if the water gets past the fuel water separator.

Have a great day!

PM22 or Diesel HPR

I am running hpr diesel with no additives. 75 cetane, http://dieselhpr.com/assets/media/Di...cification.pdf

If I don't have access to that I use PM-22a From Ford.

Does the motorcraft stuff have a demulsifier in it? I like to use stuff that has the blue oval on it, just in case a warranty issue comes up.

What the heck is this cetane you speak of? I've been running diesels for twenty years and never used it. Heck almost 300,000 miles on my old 6.0.

It's like octane booster for gas engines. Supposed to make more power, burn cleaner and more efficiently etc....

Yes, but from what I have been reading, it is highly recommended with the ultra low sulfur diesel fuel. Still hoping someone knows if the motorcraft stuff has a demulsifier.

I use PM-22a. I buy it by the gallon (amazon $52+free shipping) and refill my 6oz bottles I carry in the truck. I imagine most brands are good products but Ford can't complain if a warranty issue ever pops up. None have so far.

Is HPR Diesel with a 75 cetane level only available in the state of California?

I would be interested if this product reduces soot build up and extends the mileage between regenerations.

My dealer told me that it is indeed a demulsifier. He recommended I use it when travelling in the U.S this summer as the fuel quality is lower.
