I'm the origonal owner of a 2000 F250 diesel superduty with automatic transmission and I can not turn the key back to the accessory position and the steering wheel does not lock any more. Does any one know what would be causing this? I planned on changing the the cylinder lock assembly but I'm not sure if that is the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

 

You might be better posting this in the 2000 truck section. My guess is something broken in the column. Most likely will have to get into it to see what is going on.

 

kermmydog, Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. I have changed the cylinder lock and it cured the issue of the key not being able to turn back to accessory. The steering wheel still does not lock so I'm guessing you are correct, something is broken. I will have to tear into it and see. Thanks again
