I've been picking thru the wiring diagrams, I can splice in my IDI engine harness and start with original key (100% bypassed PATS system) not sure about speedometer yet. gas gauge works. Nearly all the instraument cluster is fed by the can-bus network which means unless your a IT professional and can build calibrated digital signal generators it wont be useful. For me it would be similar to plugging the oil pressure switch into the back of this computer and hoping for it to display on the screen. I used original 7.3 engine mounting plates from the old pickup. I was snooping around the cummins conversion kit site, wow it looks like you could spend 3 or 4 thousand bucks to purchase all the adapters, mounts, wiring harnesses and the programmer. I'll stick with my home made project!

Your speedo is going to work just fine. It runs off the rear end. When I did my cummins swap I did replace part of the sending unit because the ford has a pump in the tank and it puts out way to much pressure. Just for reference on the ford pump and mounts for p/s and sensor etc you can view my old thread of the cummins into my F250. It was done on a budget as well with no adapters. I beleive in the end I only had a little less than 3k into everything, truck, engine swap, accesories etc. 99' SuperDuty with a Cummins and a TF727 auto! I was hoping the speedo would work, on this 2009 they moved the fuel pump to the frame and its already been eliminated, the two items I know wont work are the wait to start light and the gear selector PRND21 as both are operated by the can-bus. I will pull the dash and see if i can fudge something into the wait to start, but as I will probably be only driver I'm used to hearing the clicking of the relay. sometimes on sunny days thats all I go by

It's just a bulb, so as long as you put power on one side and ground on the other it should work. Might need a little soldering to attach a wire directly, but definitely doable.

Yea, I know how that is. I generally *just* listen to the clicking myself(on my non-manual-GP truck).

I don't necessarily agree with that, but I will say it looks like he did a very clean job of it. Definitely looks way better than some of the real hack jobs I've seen, of other engine swap jobs.

Have you driven it yet? I think this is a cool swap, nice job for persisting! As long as you like it and it does what you want it to, who cares? Plus you can open the hood and see plenty of daylight, which is getting more difficult on newer trucks especially those with V8s.

Quick update, I had the truck out for some short test runs and it runs and drives better than the old donor truck. The old C-6 shifts great and the gear vendor gives me plenty of cruising speed. Now its back in the shop for a quick paint job (Only reason I'm doing this is for a truck I can drive for hopefully 10 years trouble free)

I didn't like the forest green so I'm going with the royal blue

I sprayed the lower edge with chip guard
