Question after removing overload springs

I have done a half hanger flip and removed the overload spring. Now when I put my truck in forward gear and give it gas the front of the rear end tilts up and if I put in in reverse it tilts down. Is this normal with the overload spring removed ? Or is it something I need to look into ? Do I need to put it back ?Or is it a completely different issue ?

Thanks

How far does it move (tilt up)?

Question after removing overload springs

This is referred to as axle wrap and it's bad news. Excessive amounts result in busted u-joints, poor traction etc.

The axle should not be rotating. Check for tightness of the U-bolt nuts... you did tighten them down equally and torque them to spec, right?

Consider adding axle wrap bars if it is still happening.

Could my drive shaft be too long now ? What is the best way to measure it? I have a AOD transmission and a Dana rear end.

The transmission yoke should have about an inch of play to slide in and out. I don't think your DS is causing the axle wrap though.

I am unsure if it is causing it or not but I did pull the driveshaft and I only had 1/2" of play. Do you think that may be the cause ? Even if it isn't the cause it seems I should figure out a way to get another half inch. Has anyone that has removed the overload had this issue ?
Thanks again guys I appreciate your time and suggestions

How much play is there sitting on the bump stops? If you can go through the full suspension range with about a half inch I think your ok.

I still fail to see how the DS with 1/2" play right now can cause axle wrap? It would seem much more likely to be prone to axle wrap with out the over load spring as you only have I believe 4 regular leafs left, then the axle perch is very short on top of that.
