I have a 2005 Navigator that has developed a drivers side rear squeak, it almost sounds as if there is a dry pivot point or worn bushing.


I have not been under there yet but is there any grease fittings back there? it is definitely rear suspension.


It currently has 142000 miles.

 

Inspect the upper and lower trailing arm back there. They are known to rot out and snap.

 

Now does that matter if it were a dry climate vehicle verses a salt ridden vehicle?


This truck came out of Texas 3 years ago so it does not have much salt exposure.

 

No trailing arms it's an independent rear. I bet it's from the bushings. Mine squeak a bit to. Sprayed them with silicone a couple times but it came back so I stopped bothering

 

Not sure if you resolved this. I recently had a noise in the right rear passenger side. Found the hardware for the parking brake pads came off and were rattling around inside and jamming. Replaced pad with new hardware kit. All is good.
