Just replaced AC Evaporator should I add oil ?
Hi,
I have an 1985 f150 with factory air that has been converted from R12 to R134a. I had a coolant leak because of a hole in my evaporator. I just replaced the evaporator and accumulator because it was old. I then flushed the condensor and some of the lines. I am now closing the system back up and getting ready to vacuum and charge the system. My question is whether or not I need to add PAG / Ester oil or not ?
Some folks have said that I dont because most oil in in the compressor and because I did not replace that I do not need to add any ? IS that right or do I still need to add some oil.
Thanks for all your help

Just run it and try it like you are leaning toward doing or;
Clean anything out that you have not already, and then put 10 ounces of your oil of choice, either ester or PAG.
