1988 FSuperDuty 460 FlyWheel Starter Problem
The truck did not have a starter when purchased and the 184 tooth flywheel had to be replaced - I put a new 184 tooth flywheel and starter in and the teeth stripped within a week. I have been doing research and believe it needs 180 tooth flywheel based on the engine numbers some of which are hard to read. Can someone confirm this before I wreck another flywheel - the numbers are below along with links to the pictures for verification:
Block D9TE-AB (1979 or Later)
Side Valve Cover (?8VE-A2A) 1988
Transmission ZF S-5-47
Flywheel RF-D9TE-6380-BB (184 Tooth)
