I'm restoring a '76 f-250 Camper Special, and was wondering what wheel colors were available when the truck came off the line? My truck is Bahama blue and Wimbledon white. It had an aftermarket set of wheels on it, and I have since purchased a set of 16 inch steelies that I wish to repaint. Any ideas?

 

Wimbledon white or argent would appear correct.

Dress it up with some dog dish hubcaps?

 

Those are nice! The previous owner of my truck stashed a set of stainless dog dish caps in the tool box, under layers of old newspaper, unpaid bills, and nudie magazines.

 

Thanks. That's great that you have a set... I had to scrounge and then put in quite a few hours because here is how I got them ... I bought the whole lot for $10. One had a lil bit of rust-through so it's gonna become a shop clock.

 

Looks like you worked some magic on those hubcaps! I came across a set of painted dog dish caps several years ago at a scrap yard. They were on a Winnebago type motor home. They now hang on my garage wall as "art".

Do you know if trim rings were ever offered? I remember seeing some 70's F250's with some many years ago, but was never certain if they were factory, or owner installed.
