Don't start truck, just turn on ignition.

It only works by starting the truck on the higher trim levels apparently. It never would appear until I started the truck. Tried it several times.

Anything else important in this menu that would provide an improvement?

That's way above my pay grade, knowledge and need to know. Wish we could get a break down of the menu.

Mine too. Looks very complicated and somewhat intimidating.

I’m searching YouTube for how to actually change the number.
Calc MPG / Display MPG x 1000=nnnn - Imperial
[Display l/100km] / [Calc l/100km] x 1000 = nnnn - Metric

I am guessing the Correction Factor should be between 750 and 1250.
For XLT 4.2 inch Display:
Engine off. Press and hold OK Button on the left side of the steering Wheel. Turn the ignition on Accessory mode only. Do not turn The Engine on. Hold for about 5 sec until "Engineering Test Mode" appears. Turn the Engine on and go through the menu pressing and releasing OK Button. When "AFE Bias 1000" appears press and release OK. Using Left and Right change 1000 to the Number You calculated. Press OK. Actually the steps how to correct the Numbers appears on the screen once You reach AFE Bias. To leave Engineering Mode after You are done just turn the engine off.

For Lariat and up 8 inch Display:

Engine off. Press and hold OK Button on the left side of the steering Wheel. Turn the Engine on. Engineering Test Mode appears instantly. Release OK Button immediately. Then the same Procedure like XLT.

I think your calculation formula is incorrect.
Mine is consistently off 1 mpg. I divided the display (20.2) by actual (19.2) and multiplied by 1,000. The value of 1052 entered added 1 mpg to the lie-o-meter. If I divide the actual by the display, the value generated (950) should lose the 1 mpg on the display and be correct.
can someone confirm?

I believe that to be correct. As soon as I lowered my value to 950 my readings went down. I haven't driven enough yet to know the long term results but lowering the value should be correct.

Everyone's truck is going to be different, and it's going to vary with driving style/engine condition so just keep that in mind. Maybe recalculate it ever 6 months and make sure its still somewhat accurate.

That's how I did it. Entered 0941 and it dropped my lom reading by 1 mpg. I'm halfway through a 400 mile trip and will have a better idea of the accuracy tomorrow.

20.0/19.0 x 1000=1052.6315
Correction is 1053 or 1052. The Choice is Yours.
Mine was 897. 14.0/15.6 x 1000=897.4358 I use l/100km
Works the same way with MPG or I/100km

If You are not successful first time try again. It should work and is not going to hurt anything.

Once again: I did it on my 2018 Lariat 502A EB. It could be little different on older trucks but similar enough to figure it out.
Thank you for posting that!! I did mine today and it worked perfectly once I realized that I needed to keep holding the OK button until I started the engine.

I adjusted mine based on a lifetime LOM reading of 19.6mpg and a hand calculated lifetime 18.3mpg. I’ve never reset my Trip 1. The adjustment actually changed my Trip 1 to 18.3mpg....I didn’t realize it would change historical info. Very cool.

Note, your original formula of dividing actual (hand calculated) mpg by the truck displayed mpg....then multiplying by 1000 is the correct order of operations.

I’m traveling this week in my truck and am looking forward to refueling so I can see how much more accurate it is now.

I am using Metric ( l/100 km) on my truck and it is correct. Apparently MPG (Imperial) is opposite.
