Visiting a junk yard...
If anyone is interested, PM me and I will provide contact information so you can deal directly with the owner. He is a good guy and easy to deal with. Keep in mind that this is located in northwest Alabama. He can e-mail or text photos.
The dash pieces look pretty good and are wood grain, if anyone is interested.
and it wants to close onto my head and hands, fun! I also need the thing that makes the fuel gauges show how much is left in the tanks, and the sun visors, esp the passenger side.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the 1985 manual tune stereo was still made for the DIN style radio opening and won't fit the 80-84 **** and shaft bezel...
That said, if it was a 1985 with wood grain dash it would have been the burl wood, correct? It wasn't a diesel bezel by chance was it? If so I'd be interested in that along with the radio bezel if they are nice.
Gary, he said the truck had no tailgate... What type of tailgate handle are you looking for? Chrome? I might be able to find you one...
Bruno2, I might be able to find the correct tail light... they are often pretty rough here because of the Arizona sun and heat but there are a lot of them and I can probably find a decent one...
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
bruno2,
I'm sorry for the delayed response... I've been busy. I am planning to go back on Friday and will take a good look at the tail light lenses. I'll get back with you regarding condition.
Ford F834 told you right, but I spoke with the owner of the business because I know he has a recently acquired F350 with 460 engine. He removed (2) smog pumps and everything attached. He believes the diverter valve is there. He mentioned that there is part of the bracket which holds the smog pump plus the alternator. That part is still on the truck. He does not know if any of this is working as he removed it as soon as he got the truck. The parts are available.
The truck looks and runs well, so the system might be good, but who knows?
If interested, PM me.
Up close, the truck's interior was not as good as I thought. So sorry, Ford F834. The wood grained bezel around the instrument cluster was rough and had holes drilled in it. I retrieved the bezel around the radio [it looks pretty good], but found that the 1984 and earlier style radio had been updated to the 1985/1986 unit and the bezel had been neatly trimmed. It actually looked stock from outside the truck. I have the radio [AM/FM cassette] and bezel, but do not believe this is anywhere near the quality you are striving for. The radio functions are stiff.
The dash pad was shot as well as the visors. I did find 29 cents!
So, I said to myself, what can I get that is small and can easily be shipped and will be needed by some of our newer members who are working their way up the ladder and might need some oddball parts? Here is what I found:
1985/1986 AM/FM cassette [original] radio - has *****; works???
Radio bezel [wood grain] - modified as described above.
Driver side mirror head [looks good, but aftermarket].
Headlight doors [both] - no cracks or broken tabs; chrome with black accent - has what I call "normal" damaged area where the acid rain runs off the edge of the hood and hurts the chrome finish.
Upper and lower anodized aluminum grill trim pieces [horizontal]; straight, but ashy in appearance [not shiny].
Passenger side tail light lens [for bruno2].
Stainless headlight retainer pieces for both headlights plus the 8 screws [easily lost].
2 upper mirror gaskets [door].
1 lower mirror gasket [door].
3 door mirror bolts [torx head].
2 hood bumper radiator supports [black plastic; large threaded].
2 hood bumpers from front fender [rubber].
1 hood to firewall ground strap.
1 1985/1986 wiper switch [2 speed].
2 1984 F350 chrome fender badges.
2 87-96 taillight lenses.
PM me if you want anything.
