How many with over 100,000 miles on their Ecoboost?

I'm very curious to know if anyone here has over 100,000 miles on their Ecoboost engines, and if so, was there any issues with it that had to be fixed? The issues that my son has seen (he's a Ford tech) to the engines itself is timing chain stretch and spark plugs that aren't lasting much past 70,000 miles and that's about it, so far.

Both of which sound reasonable.......so change out plugs once or twice and a timing chain and 200k is not unrealistic ......and then still sell that thing for $15k.....ain't America great

The premature timing chain stretch issue is a little unrealistic considering most time chains outlive the car. But other than that, nothing major. I am at 68k glorious miles. Time will tell as I bought this truck used and it had a hard life before I bought it.

You remember the days of old then. Not a common issue nowadays. Timing belt-yes. Timing chain-no. In fact, Toyota has completely gone exclusively to timing chains for their family of engines.

My son said that he has seen 2 Ecoboost engines with the passenger side timing chain stretch, but there will always be an issue on an ocasional engine. I'm thinking about buying my lease and was just wondering if there were some high mileage Eco's out there anyone can shed light on. I just went past 25,000 miles on my truck and it performs like brand new. I really love my truck and just might hold on to it.

actually, it has three.

one that goes around both intake cams and the crank, and then one on each side to go from intake to exhaust cam.

if we are going to be technical

Secondary chains.... they are not known to "stretch"... if that's what you want to call it.

A lot like "warped" rotors.

I assume the big chain that goes from the crank to both intake cams is the one that stretches?

engines

engines last a long time, nowdays its how you drive then,i have 3 cars in the driveway live in the country 58 miles to the nearest store,i drive 154 miles a day to work with no problems,
96 Toyota 206,000 miles
97 mountaineer 198,000
2000 contour 184,000
1975 f100 full time 4wd 243,000 miles

59 f100 family owned new had 98,000 when engine rebuilt in 82 still running,

older engines didnt last long but hot rodding back then was common burning the tires was daily lol,i don't understand why people trade there ride off for a new one when its not time, just to say I have a new one I rather keep the old and save $18,000-43,000

But is it actual "stretch" or wear? On the old 4.0 v6s people would have issues but it was the guides and the tensioners wearing down so as to create slack in the chain. On older pushrod engines, it was wear on the sprockets. They didn't stretch.
