The lever for the middle seat operates the mechanism that tilts the seatback forward and slides the seat up on the rail. Mine has never worked right, but the problem is I can't get the seat behind the driver (outer rail) re-latched in the rearward position in the seat rail. It moves forward and backwards in the rail. The latch on the other side is locked, and won't unlatch even with the lever.There is a sticker warning of this condition adjacent the lever. I tried ratcheting straps in an attempt to move it back enough to latch; no joy.

I've let this go for several years, but the constant rattling is driving me crazy, and I'm sure it is unsafe in a crash.

Any ideas? I thought sure my ratcheting strap idea would work....
