Manifold to pipe leak fix?

How are you guys fixing leaks that develop between the manifold and exhaust pipe? There doesn't appear to be a donut gasket between the two, just metal on metal. I tried some exhaust sealant, but it still leaks.

It is a ball and socket type flange. Haven't had to use any type of sealant. The pipe flange is most likley damaged.

No gasket there, it's a compression type fitting as mentioned. You sure that's where the leak is and your manifold ain't cracked?
