Anyone ever see or hear of a Bronco with 4 wheel factory disc brakes?
Grandson picked up a '87 Bronco chassis with 4 wheel disc brakes, wondering if this is factory or modded? He wants to put a 460CI in it, has a '89 Bronco that will be the donor body.
No. Factory was disk/drum. I might be wrong about this part but I think they were all rear wheel ABS.
Edit: when the 302 finally died around 295K miles I went with a 392. More than enough power and pretty much a direct swap. Personally, I wouldn't go the a 460 because other things would have to be changed.
Not entirely sure of all the parts that woyld need to be changed but at the very least the engine mounts and the transmission and/or bellhousing. The 300/302/351W is a different trans bolt pattern than the 460.
Edit: since it is fuel injected (at least) the computer and the wire harness would be different.
Unless there is a need for the 460 I would stick with the small block. Better mpg's, bigger aftermarket selection and more than enough power to move around a bronco.
