2004 5.4 SD Sparkplugs

I am trying to verify the type of sparkplugs used in my engine. 2004 F250 SD built Oct 2003. Does my engine have the normal plugs or the type that tend to break when removing? Also would I have the improved head with more threads for the plugs? Would also like advice on the best plugs, coils and boots to use. This truck still has original plugs and coils in it. Thanks.

Go to Official Ford Parts Site | Buy Motorcraft & OEM Ford Parts Online | FordParts.com and search for the current part number by your VIN. That's going to be the most accurate way of finding the current recommendation for spark plugs.

Thanks for that link, it identified my truck to the t. Looks like I have the normal plugs. I was hoping to replace all coils at the same time but $75 each might be overkill. I think I have a bad coil and need to identify which one is bad first. Thanks again!

I replaced plugs in 04 5.4 SD with autolite ap103 and was a mistake. They caused overheating issues because the heat range was too high even though they are rated for that engine. Motorcraft have much lower heat range and work best for triton engines. If you want something other than Motorcraft look at heat ranges on the plug you want before you buy to avoid some of the trouble I went through. I sprayed lubricant down cylinder holes and set before removal, then used anti seize on new plugs and didn't have any issues either way.
