Rear drive shaft substitute?

Rear drive shaft substitute?
I have 88 ford bronco ii xlt. My inner ball bearing and bearing cage in my rear drive shaft was destroyed after a mud off road session. And can't find anyone that has them! A guy has a 1985 bronco ii he's parting out. Wants to sell me his rear drive shaft.
My question is..
Can his U joint drive shaft work for my bronco that uses a CV joint drive shaft if they are the same length?

Per the TRS tech articles '85 and '88 Bronco II's use the same transmission families (Mitsubishi FM series if manual, A4LD if automatic) with BW transfer cases so... in theory... the driveshafts should be interchangeable. Could you bring your old shaft when picking up the new one to do an actual comparison?
Otherwise Jeff's Bronco Graveyard offers the upgraded U-joint style shafts for $195. Someone there can tell you which one will work.

The double cardan driveshaft needs a yoke output vs the flange on your 88. The early std. trans were shorter and the c-5 was shorter also. So as was said you need to check length. If you are considering going to a double cardan shaft the early stock shaft used 1210 series parts and has very little flex. If you have a suspension lift this may be a problem. By 88 they had the drive shafts all the same length.
If you do not have a lift most auto parts stores sell a replacement shaft. Or search car-part.com for 88 and up drive shafts.
