totally lost with this truck

I have a 89 f250 with a 351 winsor. Starts and idles fine even runs good most of the time. Once it has ran for about 10 mins it starts to sputter and some times it dies some times it dont just put new wires and plugs in and still the same. Spark looks good when tested all 30 times fuel is in the rail and both pumps are working. Sometimes after it dies have to let it sit for a while before it will start again sometimes it will fire right back up. Just woundering what yall think thanks in advace for the help

I'd start by watching the fuel pressure when this happens. Assuming the pressure stays consistent, I'd look at the TFI next. That thing is notorious for all sorts of oddball failures. I used to keep spares in my glove box.

TFI=Thick Film Ignition is aka the Ignition Control Module (ICM). Yes, your symptoms lead one to think the problem is there. Check the fuel pressure and spark to confirm.

Well just it fixed some of the problem come to find out was going to take it for a joy ride to town instead of up and down the street and the problem is still there just not as bad. Starting to think my fuel system is weak also but ive always had good pressuse so unless its intermittent and ive just never caught it idk but im going to do some more research and thinking. Who know might pull whole engine and turn this 2wd into a drag truck idk yet

Have you checked the engine codes? That's always good thing to do anytime you have an issue.

That said I had the same issue on another '91 4.9 before. It ran great but every now and then it would simply die for no reason. I chased down EVERY code and repaired them. Same problem. I replaced the fuel filter and fuel selector. No go. Long story short it was an intermittent fuel pump issue. My pressure was fine every time I checked. I started carrying it with me so I could test when the truck died again. Sure enough, that was the problem.

Not that that's your issue but having a plan to test a few things on the roadside when it occurs can keep you from pulling all you hair out. Those intermittent problems are a real pain.

Yeah it almost has to be a fuel problem due that almost everything on ignition side has been replaced or checked
