Rattling brakes

I have a 2013 F150 with 80,000km+ Original front brakes. When I am driving around and hit any bumps, I can hear a rattle. A slight pedal will make the noise go away.
Anyone have a similar issue? The pads still have lots of life in them, so besides replacing them, what can I do? Or, is it actually something else? I have a 100,000km warrentee.

Sounds like the caliper assembly is bouncing around on the slider bars (sorry, don't know the official names of the parts).

Here's a couple of tips: Brake Pad Rattle - EBC Brakes

Hey swimmer_spe,

Have you had a chance to let your Ford Dealer take a look at the rattle you're experiencing? Our certified techs are best to diagnose. Shoot me a PM with your name, VIN, dealer, and best daytime phone number, and I'll look further into this to see how I can assist.

I have had the dealer look at it. They say it is the brake pads and because it they are not worn to the limit, they have not replaced them. I have a 100,000 km warentee and they tell me that the pads are not covered under it.

Sorry, but I will not provide my VIN.

I completely understand your hesitation. You may contact the Ford of Canada Customer Relationship Center at 1-800-565-3673.
