Any glasspacks on an I6?

Currently I got my truck straight piped, with just the cat, and no muffler.

I need to take it in for inspection tomorrow, and if they tell me I got to have a muffler, I figure I'll go ahead put a glasspack of some sort on it.

I'm really not to worried about performance or mileage, cuz it's not that much of a difference. But I like the sound w/out the muffler.

So anybody out there running a glasspack on an I6 that can offer reccomendations?

Thanks y'all, Stephen.

My uncle has a glass pack on a 63 F100 with a 223 I6. You'd never guess there was a tiny 6 under there. It sounds pretty mean (compared to how it did before).

Areas that require mufflers require baffled mufflers. A glasspack is essentially just a straight pipe with some louvers in it. They usually won't pass a glasspack if they are looking that closely, I would not waste my money on one. Plus they sound terrible on a six in my opinion.

Get some sort of oval muffler with some baffles in it and they will probably let it go then.

My son's 1984 with 4.9L engine had a glasspack with the factory catalytic convertors still intact. It would drone inside the cab at leisurely cruise speeds.

I've heard with the sixes that any open exhaust (straight pipe, glass packs, cherry bombs) makes it sound like a tractor. Not sure if you want it to sound like that, I replaced my orig exhaust with stockish stuff so it wouldnt

I have always had the idea to buy an over sized glasspack, throw it in the rocks and dirt, hit it with the torch a time or two, and throw some mud on it. Then, take it and slide it over my exhaust pipe where it sticks out both sides and weld it in place. To the naked eye, it looks like it has a muffler but really, its straight piped. Never had the chance to try it though.
Also, they are a little spendy but I put a flowmaster 10 series on my 300 L6 and it sounded pretty damn good. Really deep and throaty even in the upper RPMs

Come to think of it I have a video of how the 10 series sounds. Follow the link below. Also if you want to here my 300 L6 after it was built with the cam and all follow the video to my channel. There is only two videos on my account so it's not hard to find.

I had a Thrush Welded on my old 96 with the 300. I really liked how it sounded, mellow and throaty; not a trashy raspy sound like a glasspack. I had a single in dual out Flowmaster 40 and headers on my 84 with a six shooter. I loved how that sounded, especially at idle.
