Stan's headers

Hi, I am looking at header options for my '70 F-250, 4x4, 4 speed with a 360. Engine is stock other than electronic ignition. Saw that Stan's makes a tri-y header for my truck. It is supposed to increase low/mid end power. I've read that quality of his headers are good and can get them with ceramic coating. I just wanted to know how much of a difference they will make with my engine, also if anybody is running these and would like to know about fitment.
Thanks

I have them on my 2wd F250. The driver's side fits great. The passenger side may require a little clearancing on the top of the frame or you could dent the tube slightly. You will have to remove the starter to get them into place. I haven't tried it but I think I'll have to loosen the headers to remove the starter. I put the starter in place before bolting them on once they were in position.

My truck is peppier with these vs. the stock manifolds. My gas mileage is better with the Stan's headers. It's between 1.5 & 2 mpg.

Did you get any pics of install? If not, it's not a big deal. Also, is your engine stock otherwise? What gaskets and fasteners did you use, and how are they holding up?
Thanks

I'll snap some pics later and post them. I used the gaskets and some of the fasteners that came with the headers. I had a few top bolts that had to be drilled out so they have a nut and bolt.

They are holding up very well. They've been installed for 2 years. They haven't leaked so far.

My engine is stock except for a Holley 500 cfm 2bbl carb and Duraspark ignition.

I think the headers are a well made product. I would have them ceramic coated by Stan unless you know a good shop locally. I had mine coated locally, only saved about $25. The coating is not holding up as well as other coated headers I've had.

OK, sounds good. Thank you. Ive read that the stock FE manifolds are terrible for flow and many say that it is one of the better upgrades you can do for these engines. Looking at them, I can see why. Also, what exhaust are you running after the headers?

I forgot to take pictures before it got dark tonight. I'll try to remember in the morning. Currently I'm run cheap no name turbo mufflers that came on the truck. My exhaust pipes are 2 1/4" front to back. I have them exiting out each side behind the rear wheels. I don't have a crossover of any kind. I like the sound better without a crossover. When these turbo muffs start rusting I will probably switch to magna flow mufflers.
