AOD Problems
89 Bronco with AOD. Trans lost power while accelerating from 45mph. When coming to a stop light, vehicle shuttered and died. Dropped it back in neutral just before it died and the rpm's went normal but once I placed it in drive it shuttered and died for good. Would not restart. Thinking neutral safety switch is bad but it also appears that the tranny blew a seal judging from the oil film on the back window. Tranny was about two quarts low. Was able to restart the vehicle by bypassing at the starter solenoid. Vehicle would run in reverse and neutral but died in drive. Vehicle is at tranny shop that rebuilt the trans about 10 months ago. Been there one week and they haven't even looked at it. Could a neutral safety switch cause the problems listed above, such as dying when the vehicle is placed in drive? Comments appreciated.
