Rear Leaf Spring Bushing Question.

Another option is to replace the whole shackle. That way you don't have to get the old bushing out! That's what I just did on my truck. I needed to replace both rear spring hangers and I couldn't (reasonably) get the lower bolt out to separate the shackle from the hanger, so I got new shackles loaded with new bushings. I ended up reusing the bushings in the spring eyes because I couldn't get the old ones out easily enough and they looked to be in pretty good condition.

I'm not going to go drilling out rivets and replacing shackles that cost more money than I have right now lol. Besides that I don't want a rubber replacement. I can get those bushings out no problem. I have air tools lol.

Whatever works for you, and I definitely understand leaning toward urethane bushings. As far as removing the rivets, I found it FAR easier to grind the heads off the rivets and then knock them out with an air hammer than to try to get the lower shackle bolt out. But whatever works for you.
