I have a 2001 ford ranger, 3.0L, 5 spd. Dash is flashing theft light, no start. Any way to by pass this stupid system?

 

have you tried unhooking battrey for awhile then re connecting?

 

Have that function tuned out of computer, about the only way.

Did you you try to start it without a PATS key, or with the key in the ignition, or the ignition on, or perform some under dash work without first disconnecting the battery???? Maybe have a look through this info a member posted http://www.scribd.com/doc/11145204/P...C-Service-Tips
If you have, or can come by an ELM scantool, download & run the latest version of FORScan & post All trouble code Number clues it finds, or if it finds PATS has been triggered, see if the latest version of FORScan with PATS programming will reset it.
